Jai Ram Thakur won the Kangana Ranaut ticket despite his reluctance to compete in the LS elections: Congress

Prem Kaushal, the top spokesman for the Congress, said today that the BJP’s attempt to seize power in Himachal Pradesh by financial means was unsuccessful. Following the six Assembly byelections, there will be forty Members of Congress once again, and the state’s citizens will be served by the government for a period of five years.

According to Kaushal, “Former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur did not want to run in the Lok Sabha elections, so he received a ticket for Kangana from the Mandi seat.” Jai Ram did not act as the Leader of the Opposition during the previous year’s rainstorm. Instead of helping Himachal get financial aid from the central government, he tried to politicize the calamity.

“The BJP has chosen Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut to represent Mandi in the Lok Sabha elections, ignoring Kargil War hero Brig Khushal Thakur (retd.),” he said. He continued by saying that the Congress has always maintained a dominance in the Mandi parliamentary seat. “Kangana is a gifted actor, but she cannot compete with Congressman Vikramaditya Singh, a minister of the public works department, in the political arena. Himachal Pradesh’s youth idol is Vikramaditya, he continued.

Kaushal said, “Kangana claims that no one questions that I am the daughter of Himachal Pradesh. Where was she during the rainy calamity when even young children were contributing to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid those impacted by flooding in the state, along with widows, retirees, and other members of society? Bollywood celebrities also contributed money to Himachal.

“Kangana tried to gain popularity by courting a controversy during the disaster,” he said. Kangana turned down Jai Ram Thakur’s request to serve as the Himachal Pradesh tourist ambassador, claiming that the state government could not afford to pay her expenses.
