Lahaul and Spiti: A warning has been issued because to the significant avalanche hazard

Along with issuing an avalanche notice on Tuesday, the Lahaul and Spiti police asked people to avoid the Chandra River and to exercise caution while in regions covered with snow.

The area’s snowfall and rain on Tuesday morning caused an avalanche that blocked the Chandra’s water flow, which was subsequently restored. People are urged to avoid the river as a result of this rising water level, according to the police.

They also said that since there is still a significant danger of avalanches, commuters have been advised to drive carefully through icy terrain.

Eleven2 state highways have been closed due to unfavorable weather. Over the course of the previous day, there was sporadic rain in the mid- and low-hill regions, while isolated spots in the higher hills and tribal regions had light snowfall.
