Three women were arrested in Mumbai with mephedrone worth Rs. 4.65 lakh

According to police, three ladies were detained for allegedly possessing mephedrone valued Rs. 4.65 lakh in the western neighborhood of Kandivali.

An official said that a patrolling team from the crime branch stopped a lady on Thursday in the Poisar, Bihari Tekdi region and discovered 11 grams of the illegal substance on her person.

He said that after searching the woman’s home in the neighborhood, the police discovered the other two suspects.

 

20 grams of mephedrone and Rs 5.75 lakh in cash were found in the home during a search, the official said.

 

He continued: The mother, her daughter, and her daughter-in-law have all been named as defendants in a lawsuit filed under pertinent sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

 

In the meanwhile, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) detained five individuals during searches in the western suburbs of Mahim and Bandra on Thursday, along with 150 gm of mephedrone valued at Rs 30 lakh.

 

The investigation is under progress, and a FIR has been filed under the NDPS Act.
