Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Chief of the RSS Mohan Bhagwat votes in Nagpur and exhorts people to use their right to vote

Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh (RSS) head Mohan Bhagwat was one of the first voters to cast his ballot in Nagpur as the first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 began. Shortly after the polls opened at 7 am, Bhagwat used his right to vote at a Mahal polling station.

According to a PTI report, Bhagwat encouraged the people to vote in large numbers after casting their ballots in the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024. Additionally, he exhorted people to vote with the interests of the nation at heart.

It is our duty and right to cast a ballot. For the following five years, we kind of mapped out our nation’s destiny. Thus, I cast my ballot today as the first thing I did,” the PTI article cited him as saying.

The head of the RSS said that he thought voting should be 100% and that it is crucial for all citizens to participate in forming a democratic environment.

First phase of the seven-phase Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is now happening in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha area, which includes seats like Nagpur, Ramtek, Chandrapur, Bhandara-Gondia, and Gadchiroli-Chimur. This phase is the second-longest voting activity, including 102 seats across 21 states and Union Territories. The first-ever extended election took place between September 1951 and February 1952.

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will end on June 1 and the results will be declared on June 4 after the vote-counting process. The elections started on Friday.

Maharashtra sends the second-highest number of lawmakers behind Uttar Pradesh, making the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections important.
