The ‘private party coach’ from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, had 65 people on board when it arrived. She said on X, previously Twitter, “Another devastating incident in railways, this time at Madurai (Tamil Nadu), involving a massive fire in a train, and leading to at least 9 shocking and tragic deaths and at the very least 20 critical injury cases.”

While I offer my sympathies to the relatives of the dead and offer prayers for the wounded, I anticipate that inquiries will quickly identify who is responsible. Could I also ask the railway officials to be more watchful and less indifferent to the safety and lives of people? Added she.
