More than 60% of votes were cast in Ghaziabad

Election authorities said on Thursday that around sixty percent of the postal ballot voting for PwD and over 85-year-old categories had been completed in Ghaziabad so far.

285 voters who enrolled under the two categories participated in the experiment and cast ballots at home.

For the first time, up to 480 of these people chose to vote by mail for the two categories in the current Lok Sabha elections. Of them, 151 are PwD and 329 are above 85 years old.

According to a senior district administration official, “the voting was conducted peacefully thus far under the supervision of election officers and security personnel.”

According to officials, 14 teams have been organized to conduct voting at these voters’ residences. The voting will begin on April 16 and go through April 21.

The teams are made up of security people, a micro-observer designated by the Center, a presiding officer, and a cameraman to document the proceedings.

Voting at home will take place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. On a piece of paper, voters will need to write the names of the politicians they support.
