Mukhtar Ansari, a gangster turned politician, passes away after a heart attack; find out his net worth

Mukhtar Ansari, a gangster-turned-politician, passed away on Thursday, March 28, at the age of 60. At the Uttar Pradeshi Banda Medical College, he had a heart attack and passed away. Ansari was taken to the medical college when he was incarcerated in Banda Jail and complained of chest trouble. He represented the Uttar Pradesh assembly constituency of Mau five times as an MLA. With his passing, a contentious but significant political figure has come to an end.

Mukhtar Ansari’s election affidavit said that his entire assets exceeded Rs 21.88 crore. He had Rs 6.91 crore in obligations in addition to his assets. The data on the MyNeta app indicates that Ansari made a total of Rs 17.75 lakh in revenue in 2015–16. In a typical month, his wife made Rs 10.43 lakh. His two dependents brought in an income of Rs 3.83 lakh and Rs 2.75 lakh, respectively. It is said that upon his conviction, assets valued at Rs 600 crore were seized.

Mukhtar Ansari served as an MLA five times. He earned three victories in parliamentary elections throughout his political career while incarcerated. There were reportedly around 60 criminal charges filed against him. Among the grave accusations levied against him were attempts at murder. The law also filed eight accusations against the deceased lawmaker. The court had even sentenced him to life in jail for two of them.

Ansari has also introduced his family to the political arena. He forced his older son Abbas to seek for his seat in the 2022 elections, which he ultimately won. Along with his wife, their younger son was also charged with many offenses and has been evading capture.

In Mau, Banda, and Ghazipur, Section 144 came into effect with the passing of Mukhtar Ansari. In Mohammadabad, people have begun congregating around Mukhtar’s ancestral home.
