Munda establishes the center for tribal culture

In Padampur, Kharsawan district, Jharkhand, on Saturday, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Agriculture, and Farmers’ Welfare Arjun Munda essentially placed the cornerstone of the “Centre for Preservation and promotion of Tribal Culture & Heritage.” The museum showcases the unique tribal way of life and culture while attempting to portray and preserve the rich history of the tribal population in the State of Jharkhand.

Speaking to the assembly via video conference, Mr. Munda said that the Central Government has been operating for the last 10 years on the motto of “Development along with preservation of Traditions and Cultural Heritage” under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The mission of protecting and advancing Indian knowledge systems, customs, and cultural ethos on a national and worldwide scale has received top priority from the government. He said, “It is our duty and shared responsibility to empower and encourage the tribal community for a strong, self-reliant India of tomorrow, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision.”

This plan has been authorized by the Union Ministry for Tribal Affairs, which has allocated a budget of Rs. ten crores for the building of this center in the Jharkhand district of Kharsawan.

It would showcase the region’s history, traditions, and tangible and intangible tribal cultures. It would also serve as a knowledge and information hub to support the growth of the indigenous communities. The center is intended to be expanded as a living center in the future, providing a venue for artists to showcase their abilities and acting as a tourist destination.

Mr. Munda also opened the newly refurbished National Unique Tribal Museum, e-Library, and ST Girls’ hostel at Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sanghathan (BAJSS), in New Delhi, which were all supported by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Amritlal Vithaldas Thakkar, sometimes called Thakkar Bapa, was an Indian social worker who fought for the betterment of tribal people. He founded the BAJSS in 1948.

Mr. Munda admitted that the rare book collection at the BAJSS museum of tribal antiquities and library, situated in Jhandewalan, New Delhi, is a piece of cultural treasure that may have vanished if it hadn’t been preserved, guarded, and cared for.
