“No assurance regarding Hindu sentiments”

Mangaluru: According to Mangaluru City South MLA Y Bharath Shetty, the state’s support of Hindu sentiments is not guaranteed. He said here on Monday that CM Siddaramaiah’s obsession with appeasement politics had threatened women’s safety.

Shetty claimed that remarks made by Siddaramaiah and other government officials in reference to the Hubballi murder of student Neha Hiremath show a lack of care for Hindu women.

In an effort to placate the minority, the MLA further claimed that the CM and other Congress officials had avoided paying Neha’s family a visit. He said, “The government led by Siddaramaiah is encouraging Jihadi forces.” In addition, Shetty said that a number of farmers have committed suicide since Siddaramaiah took office, demonstrating the government’s lack of concern for the state’s farmers. “MLAs cannot start development work because the government does not provide enough funding,” he said.
