Notes from school: Mohali’s Infant Jesus Convent School

During the school’s morning assembly, pupils in grades 5 through 10 participated in a lesson on driving laws. Students were informed about different traffic laws by ASI Janak Raj of the Mohali Traffic Training Cell. He conversed with the bus workers in addition.

Panchkula’s Hansraj Public School

The school’s “Arya Yuva Samaj” sponsored “Mahatma Hansraj Day” in honor of the social reformer on the 160th anniversary of his birth. A number of events, including declamation, elocution, quiz, poster-making, and fancy dress, took place after the morning assembly. Approximately 400 pupils from several schools in the Tricity took part in an event that included a wide range of skill-building exercises. Army Public School hoisted the HPS Founder’s Day trophy.

Chandigarh PML SD Public School

Earth Day was observed by the school’s kindergarten class. Children colored, painted with watercolors, painted with their thumbs, and printed vegetables on paper, among other things. For a brighter future, children were advised to plant more trees.

Chandigarh’s Tribune School

At the Cyber Olympiad, students from the school demonstrated their mastery of computer science and information technology by winning 38 medals, including 13 gold, 13 silver, and 12 bronze. This achievement demonstrated the school’s dedication to advancing STEM education excellence and equipping students with the skills they will need to succeed in the digital era.

Mohali’s Bhavan Vidyalaya

The school’s human excellence unit, Sanskara, oversaw the primary wing’s celebration of Ram Navmi. The occasion provided the kids with a chance to understand and appreciate India’s rich cultural legacy.

Chandigarh’s Shishu Niketan School

In honor of Fire Safety Day, the school hosted a workshop on “Disaster Risk Reduction in Schools” with representatives from the Sector 17 fire station. The goal of the workshop was to inform students about disasters, their causes, mitigation strategies, and how to lessen their likelihood.

Campus highlights PU’s Center for Social Work

An influential figure in community health from New Delhi, Dr. Daman Ahuja, held a workshop on “Social Work Intervention in Community Health” hosted by the university’s Center for Social Work. Dr. Ahuja discussed the current challenges in public health as well as the several steps the government has made to improve the health of children. Through group activities that focused on the physical, emotional, and social changes that occur throughout adolescence, Gaurav Gaur, the head of the Center for Social Work, engaged the students.

Alumni Association of PU

The Center for Systems Biology and Bioinformatics and the Center for Medical Physics hosted a discussion on “Is happiness a choice?” sponsored by the university’s alumni organization. Dr. Preeti Vohra was the session’s speaker. After a brief meditation, the audience participated in a discussion and brief activities about how one’s own “inner world” might promote pleasure.

Punjab Engineering College, China

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE PEC) International student branch of Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh organized the three-day Reconnaissance-2024 event. Alumnus of the 2012 batch of PEC, Mohali SDM Deepankar Garg, was present at the function. He encouraged the pupils to strive sincerely for their passions.

Mohali’s Aryans Group of Colleges

To commemorate Baisakhi, the institution hosted a fashion display among other things. Awards were given out during the ceremony to Meenakshi from Haryana (Face of the Year), Sahil and Parul from Jammu (Talented Students), Ishan Manhas from Jammu (Ms Talented), Gagan Bagga from Punjab (Mr Personality), Uday from Jammu (Miss Personality), and Renuka from Punjab (Shining Star).

Punjab University

On the eve of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, the NSS volunteers hosted a pledge-taking event. The NSS program officers, Drs. Sonia Sharma and Vivek Kapoor, as well as program coordinator Dr. Parveen Goyal oversaw the event’s planning. Approximately seventy NSS volunteers and students took part in the event.
