Older lady discovered dead in school restroom in Odisha

The demise of an aged lady remains unclear; her corpse was discovered in the restroom of a primary school in this area on Monday.

The deceased was identified by the police as Madhusudanpur village resident Binodini Sahoo, 60. Her corpse was found in the Madhusudanpur nodal upper primary school’s restroom.

According to sources, Binodini would often visit the school’s campus to gather flowers for puja. She left her house early on Monday morning to pick flowers at the school, but she never came back.

“We launched a frantic search along with some of our neighbors when she did not return home until 8 am,” said Binodini’s brother, Nagen Sahoo. We later discovered her lifeless body in the school restroom.

According to Nagen, Binodini’s gold jewelry—such as bangles and earrings—was gone, and her body was covered with wounds. It seems that several criminals assaulted her in an attempt to steal her jewelry. “Her body was dragged and thrown inside the school toilet after my sister passed away,” he said.

Following notification, a scientific team and the Binjharpur police arrived to the school to conduct an inquiry. Following its confiscation, the corpse was sent to the district headquarters hospital in Jajpur for a postmortem.

According to the police, once the autopsy report is received, the precise reason of the woman’s death may be determined. Investigations are still being conducted further.
