Himachal Pradesh: BJP protests in Kangra calling for an impartial investigation into the Chamba murder case

In Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district headquarters, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) protested the state government and demanded a fair probe into the gruesome murder of a 21-year-old teenager in Chamba.

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla received a message from the protesting leaders and employees. BJP supporters chanted anti-state government chants and criticised Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for doing nothing about the Manohar murder case.
The state government is not conducting a fair inquiry into the barbaric killing of Manohar Lal in Chamba, according to former Dharamshala MLA Vishal Nehariya.

He said that every BJP party member stands with the victim’s family and calls for harsh punishment for all those engaged in the crime.

He criticised the Congress-led administration, saying, “The state is still mute on this issue, and neither the state’s chief minister, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, nor any minister from his cabinet are commenting on this issue. The relatives of the victim has not yet been visited by a leader or MLA from the Congress administration.

BJP’s state media chief Rakesh Sharma said that there was a plot behind the murder of Manohar Lal and the dismemberment of his corpse before it was placed in a bag.
His words were, “Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu himself did not go to Chamba.”

The case involves the murder of Manohar, a 21-year-old man, in Chamba. Manohar was allegedly dating a female from a different group. Later, the boy’s disfigured corpse was discovered in a sewer.

According to authorities, there have been a total of five arrests in the case, and prohibitory measures are in place.

Following the event, Section 144 and prohibitory orders have been put into effect in the Chamba district’s Kihar police station area.
