On April 17, severe heatwave conditions are predicted in 46 mandals in Andhra

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a heatwave advisory on Tuesday for isolated areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh, and alerts for localized thunderstorm activity on Wednesday and Thursday for the whole state.

The APSMDA predicts that on Wednesday, there will likely be heatwave conditions in 175 mandals and severe heatwave conditions in 46 mandals.

In the State, there were heatwave conditions on Tuesday in 89 mandals and severe heatwave conditions in 88 mandals. Tuesday was mostly a hot and muggy day throughout the State, with most localities seeing afternoon highs of above 40 degrees Celsius. Kovilam in the Srikakulam district recorded the highest daytime temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius. Tummakapalle in the Viziangaram district recorded 45.2 degrees, Ravikamatam in the Anakapalle district recorded 45.1 degrees, Maukkuva in the Paravathipuram Manyam district recorded 44.4 degrees, and Gospadu in Nandyal recorded 44.3 degrees.
