Carry luggage out 30 minutes after arriving, per airline instructions

Carriers have been urged by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to make sure that passengers get their luggage no later than thirty minutes after arriving at airports.

Regarding this, the aviation security authority has written to Air India, IndiGo, Akasa, SpiceJet, Vistara, AIX Connect, and Air India Express, establishing a deadline of February 26 for compliance.

On Jyotiraditya Scindia’s orders, the BCAS began an experiment in January to track the time at which bags arrive to belts at six major airports: Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Hyderabad.

Every week, the performance of all airlines is evaluated, and since the evaluation started, it has been better. The Civil Aviation Ministry said in a statement that “it is not in accordance with the mandate, which requires the first baggage to arrive at the belt within 10 minutes of the aircraft engine shutting down and the last bag to arrive within 30 minutes.”

Although six major airports are now under surveillance, the BCAS has instructed the airlines to make sure that all of the airports they travel to meet the required standards.
