Out of four, three women are caught by the authorities operating a fraud job scam

According to authorities, on Saturday, four people—three of whom were women—were taken into custody for allegedly operating a fraudulent employment scheme that offered jobs at reputable companies.

The accused were identified as Hemlata (38), a resident of Karol Bagh; Nikita Thakur (32) and Yogita (29), both of Shahdara; and Mohammad Asad (22), a resident of Sadar Bazar.

The police claim that a case was filed based on complaints from 29 individuals who claimed to have been duped and influenced into accepting jobs as field boys, drivers, guards, or employees of Delhi Metro, Amazon, etc. The accused were operating their Nehru Place office in 2023 under the name Digi Recruiters.

Following a two- to three-month operation, the accused had escaped. According to the police, they stole almost Rs 7.5 lakh from these 29 victims.

Investigations revealed that there were much more victims than the 29 who had come forward with reports of the incident. According to a senior police official, records of over 300 victims were discovered.

“The main offenders were found to be four persons. Additionally, it was discovered that they had relocated from the Nehru Place neighborhood to Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, using the same operational strategy,” the officer said, adding that the accused had been apprehended in various areas.

The cops had retrieved many papers that implicated them. It was discovered that they obtained the contact information of possible victims from a well-known internet employment board. The investigator also said that the offender has phoned over 80,000 prospective victims using the bulk data of job searchers.
