Delhi: A drunken guy perishes in a tin shed after being eaten by rats

A 48-year-old guy’s corpse was discovered behind a tin shed in south-east Delhi, his lips eaten by several rats. The man was last known to be inebriated.

The deceased, Gopal Gupta, was employed by M/s GSS Securities as a security guard and methapur chowk as a traffic marshal.

According to a senior police official, the Jaitpur police station got a PCR call reporting that someone was found laying inside the tire puncture business close to Meethapur Chowk with injuries to his hands and eyes.

When the police arrived, they discovered that just one person—Gopal Gupta—was dead inside the tin shack where he had previously operated a puncture business.

Upon examining the deceased’s corpse, it was discovered that there were wounds on his lips and right eye, where there was visible bleeding. No other serious injuries have been reported,” the spokesman said.

Following an investigation by the police, it was discovered that the deceased was an alcoholic who had been spotted intoxicated around 10 p.m.

He had traveled to the scene of the event (the Tin Shed), where he had taken a bed next to a known individual by the name of Rajesh, alias Sonu. The official said, “Rajesh has been located, and his account has been documented.

According to him, the situation does not seem to be a murder at first glance. The officer speculated that the recent wounds on the corpse were probably caused by rodents gnawing.

A post-mortem will be performed at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where the corpse was transferred in the interim. The official said that more legal action will be taken in accordance with the autopsy report’s conclusions.
