Over Kejriwal’s diet while he’s in jail, political controversy rages

The AAP and BJP’s verbal sparring has quickly intensified over Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s diet while under court supervision.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed the court yesterday that the chief minister of Delhi was purposefully ingesting sweets and mangoes to control his blood sugar levels. According to the agency, eating mangoes was intended to provide a medical justification for requesting bail.

Sanjay Singh, a senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, said on Friday that the ED and the prison administration were manipulating Arvind Kejriwal’s life and had hatched a complex plot to have him killed at the Modi government’s command.

In prison, he said, the chief minister of Delhi was not receiving insulin. He claimed that inaccurate information regarding his diet was being released by the ED, despite the fact that jail regulations prohibit the public disclosure of any inmate’s health or nutritional information.

He went on to say that Kejriwal was receiving terrorist-like treatment. He emphasized that there is a full-fledged conspiracy at work, and that ED staff, as well as representatives from the LG office and the prison administration, are purposefully disseminating false information against Arvind Kejriwal.

“By what authority did they get the publicity for Arvind Kejriwal’s fictitious diet chart in the media yesterday? What is the underlying conspiracy here? Are you going to poison him under false pretenses? Are you attempting to murder him? What are your goals? He said, “What you spread in the media yesterday was a total fabrication.

“The Delhi CM has been a patient with diabetes for the last 30 years,” said Sanjay Singh. He needs insulin, but it is not being given to him by the prison administration.

“On April 12, his sugar level was 320; on April 13, it was 270; on April 14–15, it was 300; on April 16, it was 250; and on April 17, it was 280,” the AAP leader said after reading Kejriwal’s sugar report. This is the actual sugar report he talks about with his family.

His blood sugar, which was 116 in the morning on April 4, increased to 280 on April 12 and 276 on April 14, according to the ED’s representations. On April 15, April 16, and April 18, the sugar fell to 243, 130, and 181, respectively.

Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, the leader of the opposition in the Delhi Assembly, said that while Kejriwal was permitted to consume home-cooked meals by the court, the ED had informed them that the food and other substances he was ingesting were not healthy for him.

It is possible that this will cause his blood sugar level to rise. He wants to apply for bail based on his blood sugar level. He said that Kejriwal and his party were attempting to use his condition for political gain.

Leader of the Delhi BJP Shazia Ilmi said, “Arvind Kejriwal is aware of what foods he should and shouldn’t eat.” Why would a government entity want to hurt him and claim blame for his poor health?

He claims that food that might be harmful to him is being given to him by the prison administration. Kejriwal has just twice eaten prison food since going into captivity. He only eats meals from home else, she continued.

“Anyone with type-2 diabetes will not consume mangoes,” Shazia said. He has been dealing with diabetes for a while now.
