Passengers are left stranded when busses stay off the road due to a farmers’ protest

There was none of the usual commotion at the bus stop today. Due to the Bharat Bandh call issued by farmer unions, buses remained off the road, and passengers could be seen waiting at the bus terminal. Despite the fact that it was difficult for them to travel, passengers backed farmers and their cause.

Three-wheeler drivers and rickshaw pullers were waiting idly outside the bus terminal. One of the rickshaw pullers, Jaswant Pandey, said that while he generally makes between Rs 200 and Rs 300 till midday every day, no one has rented his rickshaw today. “Today is a difficult day,” he said.

At the bus terminal, passengers could be seen asking questions regarding buses. At the bus terminal, a family of four from Jhansi, including two children, waited with their bags to catch a bus.

“We must travel to Kapurthala.” We’ve been informed that buses won’t run till 4 p.m. Thus, we will need to wait at the bus stop,” a female traveler said.

After spending a day in the city, a guy from Moga wanted to return home but was unable to find a way to do so. “It doesn’t matter if I’m having trouble finding a way to get around,” he said. In addition, I farm. I stand with farmers and support their protest.

A senior woman traveling with her son said they had traveled from Talwara to the city to get medication, and she wished to return home today. “We’ll hold off until the buses begin running for a few more hours,” she said.
