PM Modi Wins Over 31% of India’s Population at the Rising Bharat Summit with a Focus on the Middle Class

Prime Minister Narendra Modi courted the Indian middle class on Wednesday, defying convention by talking about the advantages his administration has brought about to improve their lives. When PM Modi gave the keynote talk on the last day of CNN-News18’s Rising Bharat Summit, he had the middle class in mind—a BJP core voting base that often feels pessimistic about the bigger picture.

“Even Rs 7 lakh is free today, when before a salary of Rs 2 lakh was taxable. Thanks to GST, people were able to save almost Rs 45,000 crore annually. The interest rate on personal loans and house loans has decreased during the last ten years. The prime minister said, “The middle class is benefiting most from programs like PM Sukanya Samridhi Yojna.

When he said that many members of the middle class want to provide their children with a better life than they have, he struck a chord with them. Education is a crucial component in that approach, and PM Modi said that prior administrations neglected the middle class’s educational needs.

We have established a new college in India every day for the last ten years. A different college every day. Every week, we create a new university. An unprecedented number of new medical schools, IITs, and IIMs have opened in India. India has less than 400 medical schools as of 2014. However, in the last ten years, that number has increased to 700. There were just 50,000 MBBS seats available in India in 2014; now, there are over one lakh. In the medical field, we also have twice as many PG seats. The middle class has also profited from the government’s initiative to educate engineering and medicine in their native tongue, the prime minister said.

“Our middle-class families spend thousands of crores on educating their children abroad,” Modi remarked, referring to the aspiring and upwardly mobile Indian population that sends its children abroad for further education. To guarantee that this money is saved, our government is moving on the right path. Many prestigious institutions have begun to establish campuses in India these days. The administration has altered the law to benefit international institutions.

PM Modi also emphasized the newly accessible fields for India’s youth, such as mapping, drones, and new, developing industries like space. He brought up infrastructure development in the sports industry and defense sector changes, both of which directly impact middle class life.

PM Modi addressed a sizable portion of Delhi-NCR homebuyers who often complain about excessive delays or builder fraud, saying, “People of Delhi-NCR know how many flats were stuck during the previous regime.” They were paying EMIs, living off of rent, and looking forward to the day when they would own their own house. Previously, no government paid attention to the middle class. Our government has set aside Rs 25,000 crore to finish these unfinished projects, allowing the middle class to get a house commensurate with their financial contributions.

He also said that 1.25 lakh structures have been registered under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA), which penalizes builders for delays. PM Modi said, “Ab koi ye manmani nahi kar sakta.” “Yahi to Modi ki guarantee hai,” the prime minister stated, enumerating all the accomplishments of his administration.

In 2020–22, 432 million people belonged to the middle class; by 2030–31, that number is predicted to rise to 715 million. This industry is often referred to as India’s economic development engine. By 2047, when PM Modi intends to transform India from a developing country into a developed one, the population will have reached 1.02 billion.

In an effort to connect with the 31% of Indians who hope for a brighter future, Prime Minister Modi used the Rising Bharat Summit to set a goal for the BJP-led NDA to surpass 400 seats ahead of the Lok Sabha election.
