Police in Nagpur confiscate 40 cell phones, 2,626 SIM cards, and two internet fraudsters

According to authorities, the Nagpur cyber police have detained two individuals from Uttar Pradesh and taken 40 cell phones and 2,626 SIM cards from them that were reportedly used to commit online scams.

They added that the accused was from the UP area of Hardoi.

According to authorities on Wednesday, a resident of Nagpur, Maharashtra, reportedly lost Rs 11.40 lakh after falling victim to scammers in December of last year.

The victim filed a complaint, and the Katol police opened a case in accordance with the applicable sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code.

According to the officers, the Nagpur rural cyber police traced the offenders’ location to Hardoi based on reliable information.

The two accused, who are both 25 years old, were taken into custody together with 40 cell phones and 2,626 SIM cards, the authorities said, with the help of the local police.
