Pune Braces for Thundershowers Several Days This Week Despite 40 Degree Celsius Temperature; Check Forecast

On Wednesday, Pune saw rain, thunder, and showers in various areas of the city, offering some much-needed respite from the sweltering heat. With temperatures ranging from 23 to 40 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain or thundershowers for this afternoon or evening.

The IMD forecasts that despite a little decrease in the highest temperature, the city will still have hot and muggy weather in the days to come.

The highest temperature recorded was 39.8 degrees Celsius, while Koregaon Park registered 40.9 degrees Celsius, according to records from the Shivajinagar Central Observatory. There was some relief, however, as Wadgaonsheri recorded the most rainfall (16.5 mm), while Pashan recorded 0.5 mm.

Even with the much-needed rain, the city saw minimal damage and traffic jams. There have been reports of brief, heavy rainstorms causing traffic gridlock on certain major thoroughfares. The Pune Fire Brigade also reacted to many accidents, one of which included the fall of a hoarding in Wagholi, resulting in damage to an automobile.

Additionally, there have been reports of car damage in the districts of Shukrawar Peth, Manjari, Vadgaon Sheri, and Kharadi as a result of tree falls. Thankfully, none of these occurrences resulted in any recorded casualties. In addition, a home in the Kasba Peth neighborhood saw a wall fall, according to

The New Indian Express.
Residents are urged to exercise caution while leaving the city due to the high temperatures and intermittent rains, particularly during inclement weather.

To guarantee the security and welfare of Pune’s citizens, authorities are still keeping a careful eye on the situation.
