Rajnath promises to look into “corruption in Kerala’s cooperative banks.”

On Thursday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh promised that if the BJP were to win back control of the nation, the Union government will look into “corruption in cooperative banks in Kerala.”

Speaking during election rallies for NDA candidates Baiju Kalasala and actor Krishna Kumar, who are running for Lok Sabha seats in Mavelikkara and Kollam, respectively, Singh promised to retrieve the misplaced money and give it back to the investors.

Kerala’s law and order situation has deteriorated. Those who take the law into their own hands would go to prison if the NDA wins back power, Singh said. Siding the LDF and UDF, who are at odds with each other here, are pals in Delhi, he said, accusing them of cooperation despite local animosity. The solar fraud was run by the UDF government, whereas the gold cookie scam was run by the LDF.

Singh addressed worries over Kerala’s traditional industries and said that the incoming Modi government will provide special protection for the coastal zone along with a special package for the fishing industry.

He emphasized the BJP’s record, pointing out that throughout the NDA’s ten-year tenure, not a single corruption accusation was made. In addition, he emphasized how much India has grown internationally under Modi’s leadership and said that corruption has decreased since the previous Congress-led administration.
