Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, will meet with the Indian military today in the Siachen glacier

Tomorrow, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Siachen and engage with the local military troops on Monday.

“Tomorrow, Rajsha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh will travel to Siachen.” The Defense Ministry Office tweeted on X that “He will interact with the Armed Forces personnel deployed in the region.”

On March 24, the Defense Minister celebrated Holi at the Leh Military Station among the military men.

His original plan was to commemorate the day with the soldiers in Siachen, but ‘inclement weather’ forced a change of plans to Leh.

According to reports, he promised to visit them as soon as possible when he talked with the commanding officer stationed in Siachen over the phone. He is now going there to make good on that promise.

Rajnath Singh will also lay a wreath at the Martyr’s Memorial during his visit.

In the meantime, the Defense Minister ran a fast-paced campaign in the present Lok Sabha elections’ first phase. In twelve states, he conducted three road performances and 26 public meetings.

In response to China’s recent renaming of thirty locations in Arunachal Pradesh, the minister of defense recently said emphatically that although India wishes to have positive ties with its neighbors, it also has the authority to take action if someone attempts to damage the nation’s reputation.

“China has updated its website with the new names of thirty locations in Arunachal Pradesh. I would want to inform my neighbor that renaming won’t have any effect. Will some regions of China become a part of India if we were to rename certain of its states and provinces tomorrow? At a rally in Arunchal Pradesh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee said, “Friends change in life, but neighbors do not.”

“India’s thinking is that we want to maintain good relations with all our neighbours but if someone tries to hurt India’s honour, then today India has the power to respond to it,” said Rajnath Singh.

The Minister of Defense pressed the Congress party for being “scared” of the adversary and brought up the problem of not building the border infrastructure.

“Congress did not carry out development work in border villages and areas because they were scared of the enemy that it could exploit the new roads to enter into the country, but China kept developing its border infrastructure,” he remarked, addressing a public assembly in Satna, Madhya Pradesh.

During the first term of the BJP administration, Rajnath Singh was the Home Minister; during the second term, he was the Defense Minister. He is running for the Lok Sabha from the Lucknow constituency, where he has won two terms in the past.

India is holding seven stages of general elections in 2024 to choose the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The second round of voting will take place on April 26 after the first round ended on April 19. On June 4, the results will be made public.
