Reopened government offices with officials beginning to trickle in

Coimbatore: Following a month-long hiatus, district government offices have reopened, with staff returning after finishing their election-related tasks.
Because of the election activity, construction plans and new water connections are awaiting approval at government offices and the Coimbatore Corporation.
Officials from the Coimbatore Corporation rejected applications earlier this month, citing elections.

According to a corporate representative, all applications will now be accepted and handled as quickly as feasible.
First, approvals that were pending would be handled. The officer said that it would take a minimum of two days. But he said that it would take some time to fully resume the usual duties.

In addition, he said that work orders for development projects would remain suspended until the model code of conduct (MCC) was implemented.
The model code of conduct prohibits some political representatives from using their positions inside the company, such as zonal chairmen or chairman of several committees. There would be a delay in a couple of the budgeted projects.
Additionally, it would take time for the intended tender procedure to start for a number of projects, such as the dialysis center installation and the biomining and bio-CNG facility for waste management.
An official from the district administration said that even if construction has started again, initiatives are not given the go-ahead or clearance. Concurrently, no new agreements will be inked prior to June 4.
The district administration’s and the corporation commission’s grievance and redressal sessions would also be postponed due to the same.
The petitioners are welcome to place their plea in the box at the administration office even if the redressal has been halted, according to an official. These would be sent to the relevant authorities so they could resolve the matter. The transfer of patta is the main requirement here.
