Six more detained for assaulting a police officer

Six additional suspects have been taken into custody by the police in connection with the attempted murder case against over forty young people who reportedly assaulted an on-duty police officer for objecting to hooliganism at a school in Rasoolpur Saida village. Constable Gurpreet Singh was the victim of an alleged assault on March 22 by the accused.

Speaking to the media, Patiala SPO (city) Sarfaraz Alam stated that Rajwinder Singh Boxer, who was out on bail in a different case, was taken into custody along with Harpreet Singh, Aajan, Johny, Suraj, and Gaurav by a team headed by technical support unit incharge Shaminder Singh. This brings the number of suspected people who have been detained in this matter to 14. To apprehend the remaining suspects, we are conducting raids. From their possession, we have found a knife, several sticks, and baseball bats,” he said.

4 detained for robbery planning

In a another instance, four individuals were detained by the police on suspicion of plotting a heist inside the city. “We have taken two handguns and two swords out of the hands of Harpreet Singh, Sandeep Singh, Sonu, and Paras Kumar. They have a criminal history, and more information may come out of their questioning, the SP said.
