Research Day is celebrated by SRM-AP

Neerukonda (Guntur district): Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, the major guest at the 8th Research Day celebrations hosted by SRM University-AP here on Friday, is the director of IIT Ropar and the officiating director of IIT Guwahati.

The honoree was Prof. Amlan Chakrabarti from the University of Calcutta. In attendance were the deans of every school, faculty members, research researchers, students, registrar Dr. R Premkumar and dean of research Prof. Ranjit Thapa.

In her speech, Ahuja emphasized that research is a passion and that in order to advance, expand, and generate high-caliber research outputs, we must first have a solid basis in fundamental research.

According to SRM Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manoj K. Arora, Research Day honors the creative thinking of its students.

Research scientists and undergraduate and graduate students from throughout the nation submitted over 350 research abstracts. During the paper presentation, seven competitors received silver medals and 27 participants received gold medals.

For their efforts, Drs. K M Divya Chaturvedi, Mahesh Kumar Ravva, Prof. GS Vinod Kumar, Ghanshyam Pandey, and Ramanjaneya Reddy Udumula were given distinguished honors.

Attendees included Prof. Ranjit Thapa, dean of research, and Dr. Pradyut Kumar Sanki, convenor of the eighth research day and associate professor in the department of electronics and communication engineering, together with Dr. R. Premkumar.
