Sonia Gandhi will be at the Mumbai INDIA Alliance meeting

Sonia Gandhi, a prominent member of the Congress party, will attend this week’s INDIA bloc meeting in Mumbai, where the opposition coalition’s emblem will be unveiled, according to Nana Patole, head of the party’s Maharashtra branch.

On August 31 and September 1, prominent members of the anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bloc—which includes more than two dozen parties—will meet in a posh hotel in suburban Mumbai for their third meeting after initially uniting on a same platform in Patna in June.

In a statement to local media, Patole stated, “Sonia Gandhi will attend the INDIA alliance meet in Mumbai.” In addition to discussing their plans for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, he said opposition leaders would also reveal the alliance’s official emblem during the meeting.

The bloc’s second meeting, held in Bengaluru in July after its second meeting in Patna in June, finalized its name, Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

The coalition was established with the intention of challenging the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the parliamentary elections of 2024.
