Straw in grain bags in Sangrur; investigation requested

A three-person team headed by Sangrur Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal was tasked with conducting an investigation after wheat theft from bags obtained via PUNGRAIN was detected.

According to District Food and Civil Supplies Controller (DFSC) GS Kang, Jasrao Trading Company, Sangrur, has received a notification over this.

He said that the committee had contacted the Arhtiya and requested that the image be cleared. Information claims that when laborers were loading wheat sacks onto wagons at the Sangrur Railway Station, the crime was discovered.

It was stated by the laborers that straw had been placed in many wheat sacks in place of grain. On behalf of the FCI, the PUNGRAIN purchased the wheat, which was being transported to Gujarat.

Under the IPC’s Sections 406, 420, 379, and 120-B, a formal complaint has been filed against an unidentified individual.
