NEW DELHI: In the absence of her husband, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sunita Kejriwal is expected to start doing roadshows in Delhi this weekend, which would help the Aam Aadmi Party’s Lok Sabha election campaign, according to party officials on Thursday. With Kejriwal’s detention by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in March for alleged money laundering, Sunita is gradually coming out of the shadows to play a larger part in reviving the AAP’s campaign.

The court custody of the chief minister of Delhi has been extended till May 7.

“The chief minister’s wife is scheduled to attend her first roadshow in Kondli reserved assembly constituency, represented by Kuldeep Kumar, who is AAP’s East Delhi Lok Sabha seat candidate, in the coming weekend,” according to a party source.

Sunita will also go to road shows in Delhi for the remaining three Lok Sabha seats that the AAP is running for.

East Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and New Delhi seats are all represented by candidates from the AAP, which is running for the Lok Sabha in an alliance with the Congress in Delhi. In the constituencies of Chandni Chowk, North West Delhi, and North East Delhi, the Congress has filed candidates.

According to reports, Sunita would also support AAP candidates in Punjab and Gujarat. Her name appears on the party’s roster of prominent Gujarati campaigners.
