Tangedco will guarantee there are no power outages till April 20 in light of the LS elections

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) is striving to guarantee a continuous supply of energy across the state in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections on Friday.

“In compliance with ECI guidelines, the state-owned power utility will guarantee continuous power supply at all polling stations from 6 p.m. on Thursday till 6 a.m. on Saturday,” a senior official told TNIE. Additionally, the specified strong room locations where the EVMs are kept until June 4 must have a continuous power source.

A dedicated staff has been established to inspect HT and LT fuses and handle transformer problems. According to authorities, the team has also been trained to assign more field personnel so they can react to emergencies at any moment.

“In order to avoid damage to subterranean wires and preserve a continuous electricity supply, ECI has already contacted Metro Water, Highways, BSNL, and private telecommunications, directing them to acquire prior approval from Tangedco before carrying out any digging work. He said, “We are actively cooperating with these agencies.
