Tejashwi responds to Nitish’s jab about Lalu having “too many kids.”

Former Bihar deputy chief minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, on Sunday, subtly criticized Chief Minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar for his recent comments regarding his father Lalu Prasad’s large family.

During a media interaction at the Khagaria sitting MP Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser’s induction into the RJD, Tejashwi Yadav regarded Nitish Kumar’s comments on his family as a form of blessing. He expressed that such personal remarks would not benefit the people of Bihar.

Tejashwi Yadav acknowledged Nitish Kumar’s seniority and stated that they have always respected him, and will continue to do so. He brushed off Nitish Kumar’s comments, suggesting that they would only serve as blessings for them. He emphasized that resorting to personal attacks would not serve the people of Bihar.

Responding to a media question, Tejashwi Yadav remarked that Nitish Kumar is influenced by a select few individuals. He hinted at writing a book to elaborate on these matters, noting that this was not the first time Nitish Kumar had made comments about their family, citing similar incidents during the 2020 assembly elections.

Tejashwi Yadav expressed his desire for the chief minister’s well-being and happiness, highlighting that it’s not their custom to degrade or retaliate against someone who has been a paternal figure to them.

In a campaign event in Kathiaron on Saturday, Nitish Kumar indirectly targeted RJD supremo Lalu Prasad for his large family, sparking controversy. Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi have nine children, including two sons and seven daughters. Two of their daughters, Misa Bharti and Rohini Acharya, are contesting from Patliputra and Saran Lok Sabha seats, respectively.

Earlier, Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser, the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party MP from Khagaria, joined the RJD in the presence of Tejashwi Yadav and other senior leaders, citing dissatisfaction with the RLJP led by Pashupati Kumar Paras over the denial of a ticket for the Lok Sabha polls.
