The BSP adds two additional candidates for Punjab

Two more candidates for the Lok Sabha elections have been given the green light by the BSP today. It declared that Kulwant Singh Mehto of Fatehgarh Sahib and Lakhbir Singh Nikka of Bathinda would be running.

BSP Punjab in-charge Randhir S. Beniwal approved the names after conferring with Mayawati, the leader of the party.

Nikka was identified as the party’s district president by state president Jasvir Garhi. He had a reputation for taking up Dalit matters, such as one involving a property dispute over the Guru Ravidas gurdwara in Talwandi Sabo.

Mehto has led the party in Fatehgarh Sahib for the last two years and is the state secretary of the organisation.
