The MDU show featuring Deepender Hooda has caused controversy in Rohtak

The political climate in Rohtak has heated up in the wake of a dispute over Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda and the probable candidate of the Congress, which was sparked by student organizations at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) two days ago. The issue is being vigorously debated in political circles ahead of the polls.

In a recent development, Deepender, a four-time MP, was targeted by BJP candidate and departing MP Dr. Arvind Sharma, who took aim at the Congressman by claiming that Deepender should have known that no political program was permitted in any government building or educational institution while the model code of conduct was in effect.

“Is the Congress MP for Rajya Sabha unaware of the model code of conduct? Is he unaware that the returning officer is the only person with the ability to approve any kind of political program during the model code of conduct? People won’t fall for the Congress’ schemes and would back the BJP in the Lok Sabha election, despite Deepender’s attempts to mislead the public by uttering falsehoods, Sharma told reporters on Wednesday.

Deepender had claimed that the MDU administration had revoked the authorization for a group of students to host a presentation on campus to talk about the life and national contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, as well as constitutional principles. He had said that the BJP had instructed the authorities to carry out the action.

The comment was made after Deepender was forced to meet the students outside the MDU since the students were not allowed to host the event on campus by the authorities.

“The BJP has once again shown their anti-Baba Saheb, anti-Constitutional, and undemocratic viewpoint by rescinding the license at the last minute. The rights granted to the citizenry are being directly violated by this. At that time, Deepender said, “The Congress and students peacefully demonstrated outside the MDU, despite the administration’s attempts at that time to incite conflict at the behest of the BJP.”

A representative at MDU countered that because the students had not received authorization to host the event on campus, there was no need to revoke their permit. He said that the students had not even disclosed the Rajya Sabha MP’s presence when they asked for approval in their application.

Intellectuals and individuals who follow political developments have also taken a keen interest in the subject. A political analyst said, “They are analyzing its impact on election campaigning, electors, and the morale of the Congress workers.”
