The President will attend Alluri Sitarama Raju’s 125th birthday celebrations on July 4 in Hyderabad

On July 4, President Droupadi Murmu will go to Hyderabad to take part in the 125th birthday festivities for renowned independence warrior Alluri Sitarama Raju.

On Monday, Telangana Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari met with representatives from this area to discuss preparations for the President’s visit.

According to a government statement, President Droupadi Murmu would visit Hyderabad on November 4 to take part in Alluri Seetharamaraju’s 125th birthday festivities. Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari was notified of this.

 

The Chief Secretary spoke with representatives on the visit’s preparations, such as road maintenance, security, cleanliness, and electrical supply.

 

A number of top officials including DGP Anjani Kumar attended the meeting.

 

On July 4 of last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 125th birth anniversary celebration of Alluri Sitarama Raju at Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh.

 

Alluri Sitarama Raju, who was born on July 4, 1897, is famous for his battle with the British to defend the rights of the indigenous populations in the Eastern Ghats area (in Andhra Pradesh).

 

He had been the leader of the 1922 Rampa revolt. The locals refer to him as “Manyam Veerudu” (the “Hero of the Jungles”).
