The SGPC announced that the Guru Granth Sahib will now come with QR codes

At today’s executive body meeting, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) decided, among other things, to add a QR (quick response code) to Sri Guru Granth Sahib’s “saroops.”

It was resolved during the meeting presided over by SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami that all holy “saroops” printed by the organization will going forward include QR codes to record their number, authenticity, and other pertinent data. The holy saroops that are now accessible in various Gurdwaras and with the sangat at their houses would also be covered in the future, he said.

The leadership has made a number of choices in addition to debating how to commemorate future centenaries of Sikh history.

Regarding a different ruling, Dhami said that SGPC and its affiliated institution workers are permitted to take a maximum of two years of overseas leave throughout their whole employment term.

It has been decided to create a sizable structure for the SGPC-run Nishchay Civil Services Training Academy in Chandigarh, which would train Sikh youngsters for competitive examinations such as PCS and UPSC. At Gurdwara Sahib Bagh Shaheedan, Sector 44, Chandigarh, this structure will be built.
