This election is our final opportunity to save democracy. Manish Tewari

Manish Tewari, a former Union Minister and joint candidate for the INDIA bloc from Chandigarh, said that these elections represent the nation’s final hope to preserve democracy. He said that the war is for our nation, not for any one party.

Tewari was speaking at the Shri Guru Singh Sabha to a group of retired public officials, ex-servicemen, and thinkers and intellectuals from various societal segments.

The former minister emphasized that everyone would need to fight together to preserve the nation’s democracy. He said that when India gained its independence, it embraced democracy and was dubbed the biggest and greatest democracy in the world. “By fostering greater togetherness and fraternity, we must move the nation toward growth. Only when our democratic institutions are robust will this be feasible. Thus, he added, this election is our best opportunity to preserve our democratic institutions.

Fields Lakha Kotla in SAD (A)

Sangrur: On Friday, Simranjit Singh Mann, the president of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), declared the candidacies of two more members of his party for the Lok Sabha (LS) elections. Mann said that Raj Jatinder Singh Bittu was the candidate of the SAD (A) for the Fatehgarh Sahib seat and Lakhvir Singh Lakha Kotla for the Chandigarh seat. According to him, the party had granted the tickets to both candidates in consideration of their contributions and allegiance to the organization. OC
