To perform a Caesarean section, the TDP candidate stops his campaign

A TDP candidate in Andhra Pradesh who also happens to be a doctor prioritized saving a life above campaigning for the election. She halted her campaign to handle a medical emergency and assist a dangerously ill pregnant lady in having surgery.

While campaigning on Thursday night, G Lakshmi (36), a gynaecologist and TDP candidate for the Darsi Assembly seat in the Prakasam region, received a call from a nearby hospital about an urgent Caesarean section (C-section).

“An emergency caesarean section was performed because the patient was having difficulties giving birth and the baby was in danger owing to very low amniotic fluid levels. Thus, I abruptly ended my campaign event and hurried to the hospital to perform the C-section there,” Lakshmi said to PTI.

The TDP candidate said that the woman was unable to give birth naturally since there was almost minimal amniotic fluid and no local surgeon accessible.

But thanks to Lakshmi’s prompt assistance, the expectant mother was able to give birth to a son, and the situation concluded happily.

Despite the fact that meeting people is crucial for election canvassing, Lakshmi—a politician from her family—emphasized the need to save lives.

“In my opinion, saving a life is more significant. “I was thrilled to go and execute the delivery,” she said.
