Trader murder case: P’garh attacker detained

Prayagraj: In connection with a murder case involving a furniture dealer, a combined Patti and SWAT squad from Pratapgarh police on Monday detained another attacker, identified as Akash Gupta, also known as Baba, a resident of Chandwa Patti (Kandhai). The culprit was carrying a monetary reward of Rs 25,000 on his head. He was sought by the police in relation to a case that was lodged under sections 302, 504, 506, 120 B, and 34 of the IPC and Section 3\25 of the Arms Act.

While he was preparing to flee the town, he was apprehended close to Amapur Road. Additionally, police have taken his blood-stained garments out of his possession.

While he was on his way to drop his kid off at school on March 21, a merchant was shot and killed by a gang of attackers at the panchayat turn bypass route, which is located within the boundaries of the Patti police station in the Pratapgarh district, according to authorities. Four attackers were detained by police on March 23 in connection with the killing: Piyush Pal of Kandhai, Shubham Soni of Patti, Priyanshu alias Golu of Patti, and a child.
Following the detention of four attackers, police on March 28 caught another attacker, Swapandeep Yadav, also known as Kalloo Don, a Patti resident. They confiscated a 0.12-bore country-made handgun and two live cartridges. But police managed to apprehend Akash Gupta, also known as Laxman, on Monday after carrying out a second round of searches for a potential attacker.
