Trial underway; Gurugram police to wear AC jackets

Given the high temperatures reaching 40°C and the forecast for a scorching summer, the police will arm its staff with air-conditioned coats. The purpose of this action is to protect them from issues such as heat stroke while they are on duty.

Furthermore, they will also get face wash and sunscreen cream. Over 400 employees are typically assigned to more than 150 traffic points in Gurugram each day.

According to Virender Vij, DCP (Traffic), a business asked the traffic police to provide the officers with air-conditioned jackets. Thirteen jackets were sent to zonal traffic officers for examination. The cops have made contact with a business that will provide face wash and sunscreen.

“We are testing the jackets with our supporters. The jackets last six to twelve hours and may be charged using a refrigerator. We will provide them to all traffic officers in the event that the trial is successful. The jacket is worth around five thousand rupees. Through any company’s CSR activity, we will obtain them,” he said.

Instant cooling is supported by the “BRRF Plus” jacket, according to the manufacturer. When turned on, it may drop the temperature by up to 15°C. It is energy-efficient, using 95% less electricity than a ceiling fan, and it has three operating speeds.
