Truck smashes into checkpost, injuring driver and forest guard

On Tuesday night in the Paonta Sahib district of Sirmaur, a fast-moving multi-axle vehicle from Haryana crashed into the Forest Department checkpost at the Behral interstate barrier.

The whole Behral forest checkpost, which was contained in a single room, was destroyed. Deepak Sharma, the forest guard seated inside, was seriously hurt.

Divisional Forest Officer Aishwarya Raj said that after being taken to the Paonta Sahib Civil Hospital, he was sent to the Nahan Medical College for further care. The roadblock was broken by Chawdhary Transport’s vehicle (RJ 13GB 7895). Because of the accident’s huge noise, the locals were scared and hurried to investigate. The cops removed the driver from the vehicle who was injured many times. He was charged with reckless and irresponsible driving, and an investigation was under progress.
