Una: 59 aerial teams to monitor the flow of illegal alcohol

Commissioner of Excise and State Taxes According to Dr. Yunus, the department is prepared to guarantee free and fair elections across the state. Speaking to reporters here today, he said that the department has formed 22 static teams and 59 flying squads to deal with the transfer of unaccounted cash, illegal booze, and other items that may be used to bribe votes.

Dr. Yunus said that in order to increase the drive’s efficacy, interstate collaboration with equivalents in Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir had been guaranteed. He said that the department has recovered 4 lakh gallons of country liquor and Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL), 1.5 lakh of which were from the Una district alone. He said that anyone may report information about the transfer of unlawful items by calling the department’s toll-free number, 18001808062, and that the name of the informant would remain anonymous. He stated that the public’s information has been crucial in this respect.

According to Dr. Yunus, inconsistencies had been observed at an Una liquor bottling business, and a SIT had been formed to investigate. He claimed that the facility has been shut and that investigations are ongoing. He also said that one lakh liters of domestically produced alcohol were found in the Mand district of Nurpur on Wednesday. He added that 10,000 liters of illegal alcohol had been taken from Dher Majari hamlet in the Bilaspur district.

Dr. Yunus said that an electronic method bill was required for any products valued at more than Rs. 50,000, citing the Model Code of Conduct during the elections as a reason. In addition, legitimate documentation is required for the transportation of precious metals like gold and silver in addition to cash; otherwise, the items may be confiscated.
