Upgrade student amenities at the HPU Law Department: ABVP

Better facilities for the law department’s students have been asked for by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) section at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU).

A group from ABVP met with the Dean and Chairman of the Department of Laws today, informing them of the requests made by the students about drinking water facilities, new classroom furniture, new books in the library, and a lift for those with disabilities.

The dean promised them that their requests would be fulfilled quickly.

President of the ABVP HPU law department unit, Akshay Thakur said that the student body has been meeting with the Dean about some of the requests for a considerable amount of time.

He said that students were having issues because of the growing number of people at the Central Library and that the outdated materials in the Law Department library were to blame.

Thakur said that the outdated classroom furniture was causing issues for the pupils.

He said, “We hope that the administration of the Law Department will meet these demands as soon as possible.”

In addition, the ABVP threatened the government with a widespread uprising if their demands were not met quickly.
