When the EC requests that “Hindu” and “Jai Bhavani” be removed from the party anthem, Uddhav Thackeray declares he “won’t abide.”

Uddhav Thackeray, the head of the Shiv Sena (UBT), said on Sunday that the phrases “Jai Bhavani” and “Hindu” will remain in the party’s new hymn. His remarks follow the party receiving a notification from the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The ECI, according to Thackeray, has sent him a notice to take the phrases “Jai Bhavani” and “Hindu” out of his party’s new song, but he won’t follow it.

At a news conference in Mumbai, Thackeray said that it was an insult to Maharashtra to demand that “Jai Bhavani” be taken out of the national anthem.

According to Thackeray, his party has composed a hymn to promote its new election emblem, “mashal” (flaming flame), and the ECI has requested that the terms “Hindu” and “Jai Bhavani” be taken out of it.

“Hindu Swaraj was established by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with the goddess Tulja Bhavani’s blessings. We are not requesting votes in the goddess’ or Hindu religion’s name. We will not put up with this insult,” Thackeray said.

The leader of Sena UBT said that he would keep chanting “Jai Shivaji” and “Jai Bhavani” throughout his public gatherings.

“If the electoral commission decides to take legal action against us, they will have to explain their actions when Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested voters to shout “Jai Bajrang Bali” and hit the EVM button during his Karnataka Assembly campaign. at order to have Ram Lalla darshan at Ayodhya for free, Amit Shah has instructed people to vote for the BJP,” he claimed.

He stated that the Shiv Sena (UBT) had questioned the ECI whether the rules had changed and if it was now acceptable to seek votes on the basis of religion.

“We issued a reminder and a letter, but the poll body has not replied. We had said in the reminder that we would also yell “Har Har Mahadev” during our election rallies if the laws had been altered,” he continued.

The former chief minister said that since his father, Balasaheb Thackeray, supported Hindutva during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure as prime minister, he was prohibited from casting a ballot and running for office for six years.
