While BJP’s Ravi steps up his campaign, the Congress has not yet selected a candidate for Lahaul

Party activists are concerned about the Congress’s tardiness in announcing its candidate for the Lahaul and Spiti Assembly byelection, since BJP candidate Ravi Thakur has already stepped up his campaign in the area.

In order to get support from people in the byelection, Thakur is going door to door in the Assembly seat. Congressmen in the area, however, are waiting for the party to announce its nominee.

Workers for the Congress said that in Lahaul and Spiti, there was a great deal of animosity against Thakur, a traitor. But they were unable to step up the election campaign since the Congress candidate was not present. “To capitalize on the circumstances, the Congress must immediately announce its candidate for the Lahaul and Spiti Assembly byelection so that the campaign can pick up steam,” they said.

Lahaul and Spiti have a lengthy list of candidates running on the Congress ticket. They can’t decide whether to launch a campaign or not.
