After the IND vs. AFG game, Ravi Shastri made a snarky remark that “Naveen Has to Go Back to the Virat Kohli Pavilion” no matter what happened

The Arun Jaitely Stadium was lighted up by Rohit Sharma’s blitzkrieg innings against Afghanistan on Wednesday, but the show-stealing interaction between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq was their cordial conversation. By 8 wickets, India won the match, but the former Indian captain won over millions of hearts with his thoughtful actions.

As Team India faced Afghanistan in their second ICC World Cup 2023 match, the crowd painted Kotla blue. It was Kohli and Naveen’s first encounter since their brawl in the IPL earlier this year, therefore they had assembled to see a fiery match between them. ‘Kohli-Kohli’ cheers greeted the Afghan cricket player as he entered the field to bat in the first innings.

As former India head coach Ravi Shastri noted, “Naveen ul Haq comes out to bat and shouts are of ‘Kohli, Kohli’,” the effect of the chanting was audible in the commentary box. Why, I wonder. No points for speculating.

When Kohli was in the thick of India’s chase and Naveen had the ball in hand, the chanting reverberated across the stadium once again. Then, though, something unexpected happened as the two cricketers gave each other warm embraces and grinned broadly.

After the game was over, Shastri gave a really good summary of the events. The former all-rounder praised both players’ gestures on Star Sports, calling them “great to see.”

“When Shreyas Iyer was leaving and Rohit Sharma was fired, there was an intriguing occurrence. This is what took place. Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq exchanging handshakes. This is advantageous. The audience adored it. In the heat of the moment, you could have your opinions to share, but this is just wonderful to witness,” Shastri added.

Shastri did make a sly comment before drawing a conclusion, adding, “Whatever happens, Naveen has to go back to the Virat Kohli pavilion.”

When Naveen entered the batting order for the frantic chase against Royal Challengers Bangalore by the home club Lucknow Super Giants during the IPL, the two got into a furious argument. As the two cricketers escalated their argument at the usual post-match handshake, the event turned into a huge issue. Gautam Gambhir, the coach of the LSG, was afterwards seen furious on the pitch and KL Rahul was forced to step in.
