Anirban Das holds the World Series of Poker record for the highest cash prize won by an Indian

Anirban Das, a well-known poker player from India, just made poker history by being the first person from his country to take home the top cash prize of $430,200 at the World Series of Poker 2023. Anirban won a silver medal in The National Poker Series India 2023, which was conducted on PokerBaazi, earning him a chance to represent India at the famed WSOP in Vegas, Nevada. He competed in an exciting 8-day accomplishment at the WSOP, competing against the top poker players in the world, and finished 16th in the main event, which attracted a whopping 10,000 participants.

Product manager Anirban has been playing, practicing, and perfecting his poker abilities for more than ten years. He was naturally drawn to athletics since he had a knack for chess and other cerebral pursuits that required strategic thinking. Anirban made the decision to play poker professionally after years of hard work and skill improvement. Anirban is certain that poker is the ultimate test of critical reasoning under pressure. This useful skill set has tremendous use outside of the poker table and in a variety of academic fields.

Navkiran Singh, the founder and CEO of Baazi Games, congratulated Anirban on his achievement in the World Series of Poker and said, “I am thrilled to learn that Anirban has placed India firmly on the map by ranking 16th in the battle of the champions. We at PokerBaazi will keep working to expand a secure, stable, and exciting environment to support players like Anirban as they represent India and advance the global poker scene.

“I am overjoyed and overwhelmed with gratitude for the love and support I have experienced over the last week at the World Series of Poker. My performance at the WSOP ranks among my finest results throughout my career as a poker player. Without platforms like National Poker Series India offering fantastic possibilities to players like myself, I would not have had the chance or the feeling to put India on the map by earning rank 16th. I have no doubt that this accomplishment will inspire other Indians to compete in the series and take home the coveted bracelet the next year. Anirban Das said.
