Bouncers are permitted in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy up to two per over

The BCCI Apex Council Meeting recently came to an end, and among the numerous choices made about Indian cricket was the decision to allow two bouncers every over.
In order to keep the balance between the bat and the ball, the rule that allows a bowler to deliver two bouncers each over will be observed during the forthcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

“The BCCI has decided to introduce two bouncers per over in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to balance the contest between bat and ball,” the BCCI said in a statement.

The Impact Player may be used by the teams at any point in the game. Only until the 14th over of an innings may a side deploy the Impact Player in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy’s first season. Before the toss, the teams must choose their starting lineup and four substitutes.

So far, each over could only have one bouncer.

The domestic T20 competition, which also has a modified Impact Player rule, will start on October 16.
