IPL 2024: Umpire addresses “no-ball row” with Virat Kohli after KKR vs. RCB game; talks about his dismissal that resulted in a nasty altercation

While the “no-ball” controversy surrounding the expulsion of star batsman Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during an IPL T20 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has generated controversy, another video with an umpire addressing Kohli during the game has gone viral on social media.

After a nasty altercation with the on-field umpire, Kohli stormed off the field after being dismissed during the match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

While this was going on, another official can be seen in the post-match footage addressing Kohli about his dismissal and attempting to explain why the delivery was deemed “legal” in spite of the star batter’s protests that it was a no-ball.

Right now, Kohli, who scored 18 off seven balls, is positioned right outside the crease.

For a few minutes, the two had a heated conversation in which Kohli seemed to be making his point by outlining the shot he made on that delivery.

On Monday, however, Kohli was fined half of his match money for objecting to the umpire’s decision during play.

Angrily, the exasperated Kohli had knocked over the trash can next to the team changing area.
