Jaiswal performs well as RR easily wins

After Sandeep Sharma’s first-ever five-for, Yashasvi Jaiswal stormed back to form with an incredible hundred as the rampaging Rajasthan Royals destroyed the Mumbai Indians by nine wickets in today’s IPL match.

Sandeep finished with the greatest bowling numbers of the IPL with 4-0-18-5, but Jaiswal finally regained his form in RR’s penultimate home game at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, when he scorched the MI attack with 104 not out off 60 balls.

Rajasthan have no difficulty in surpassing a 180-run target set by Mumbai Indians, reaching 183/1 in 18.4 overs, even if rain intervened to postpone the game.

Yuzvendra Chahal, an Indian spinner for RR, also made history during the competition with 200 dismissals.

Jaiswal and Jos Buttler (35), who put up 79 runs for the first wicket, then added another unbroken 109 with Sanju Samson (38 not out) for the second wicket.

After a very successful five-Test series against England, Jaiswal entered 2017 IPL having blown hot and cold. Even though Jaiswal got off to fast starts a lot, he was unable to turn them into something significant until this competition.

After overcoming the challenge, the 22-year-old unleashed strong pulls and enjoyable drives in his knock, which included nine fours and seven sixes.

Jaiswal said, “I was attempting to ensure that I was keeping an eye on the ball and making my cricket shots.”
