Lance Klusener believes the match between Australia’s bowlers and India’s batters will determine the outcome of the World Cup

The World Test Championship (WTC) final, which begins on June 7 at The Oval in south London, pits India against Australia. Former South African cricketer Lance Klusener says it is difficult to predict who would win.

During a media encounter on Saturday at the Calcutta Sports Journalists’ Club, reporters questioned Klusener about his pick for the team to win the WTC final. Klusener said, “It’s a difficult choice. The side that prevails in the contest between Australia’s bowlers and India’s hitters will be victorious.

In addition, Klusener praised Hardik Pandya as one of the top fast-bowling all-rounders and said the Indian may have abandoned Test cricket a little too quickly in order to balance his workload.

Countryman Faf du Plessis, who had another successful IPL season and finished second on the run-getters’ list behind Shubman Gill, also received high accolades from Klusener.

Hats off to Faf for keeping in shape, showing hunger, and helping RCB win the finest T20 tournament in the world.

He will now play in the Big Bash League. He plays as much as possible. We must appreciate it because it’s amazing that he still has the fire inside him at this age, Klusener added.

Following a “breakdown” in his relationship with coach Mark Boucher, Du Plessis had given up on Test cricket.

It had more to do, in Klusener’s opinion, with how he handled his workload.

“Cricket has advanced to the point where you have other possibilities. As you age, possibilities arise that are more lucrative, gentler on your body, or enable you to spend more time at home.

TRIPURA’S MISSION ‘IPL CRICKETER’

The 51-year-old Klusener was introduced as Tripura’s coaching advisor for the next domestic season.

According to Klusener, their objective would be a “success” if they can develop only one IPL or India cricket player from the northeastern state in his first formal media interview since joining the position.

“I want to have an impact that lasts. I like trying new things. It will be a success if I can motivate just one individual to join the national team or an IPL franchise, according to Klusener, a coach who has already worked with Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and a number of other teams.

According to the terms of his contract, Klusener will work with Tripura for 100 days, coaching the team in age-group, women’s, and Ranji Trophy cricket.

“All of our departments have coaching people in place. According to TCA vice-president Timir Chanda, he would supervise their operations and provide useful feedback.

Wriddhiman Saha, a seasoned India wicketkeeper, has been retained for the forthcoming campaign, according to Chanda.

Following a disagreement with the Cricket Association of Bengal, Saha joined Tripura as a trainer and player.
